Dr. Marjan Alvand

Dr. Marjan Alvand came to the United States from Tehran, Iran, in 1987, where she settled in Long Island, New York. After earning her dental assisting certificate in 1988 and working alongside a prominent dentist, she was inspired and encouraged to pursue a career in dentistry.

Her passion for healthcare and patient care led her to continue her education in nursing. As a Registered Nurse, Dr. Alvand cared for patients in a variety of medical settings, including home healthcare, oncology, AIDS care, and treatment for medically compromised patients. She later specialized in hemodialysis, helping patients through critical stages of dialysis treatment.

Dr. Alvand went on to become an operating room nurse, assisting surgeons with complex procedures. In 1999, she relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she continued her work as a hemodialysis nurse while remaining committed to her lifelong goal of helping people achieve healthy, confident smiles.

In 2002, she took advantage of the opportunity to attend one of the nation’s top dental schools by enrolling at the UNC School of Dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006 before completing a residency at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina. During her residency, she received advanced training in comprehensive dental care, including full-mouth reconstruction, root canal therapy, implant placement, and implant restoration.

In 2007, Dr. Alvand fulfilled her dream of opening her own private dental practice in Raleigh. Today, she remains dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality dental care while helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
